Life's a big party.

Melanie (who at the moment is wailing away in her bed because she wanted a bath this evening, but it wasn't on the schedule...) just LOVES going out. She's the only one who doesn't object to going to church FIVE mornings in a row. She doesn't think it is fair that VBS ends tomorrow--why can't it go on forever?

She chats all about her girlfriends when she gets home, telling me which ones didn't behave, and what they all did together in the babysit. Where did she get her social skills from?

School Days

A lot of people ask if Nathan is going to school in September. The first few times I was shocked and thought:"My biggest Baby ready for school? Never! He's far to young still!" After looking at these pics though, I think perhaps he isn't a baby anymore.

So this week, he is going to school. Vacation Bible School, actually. He was sure excited to go, and had been looking forward to it for several weeks!

What a crazy busy week it is, and VBS is only in the mornings--not even full days. I'm the designated craft person, and am the head honcho in the craft room. We have hammers and nails hiding in the storage room, so no one messes with me! :p

Genes

So who does cutie pie look more like, Mom or Dad?
(I'd give a better pic of Dad but he's SO uncooperative!)

Self examination

After some close scrutiny, I have decided my picture looks better than the critters picture of this morning.

I do not like my glasses though. They don't sit right. One nose piece is getting discolored because it doesn't sit right. (Perhaps it's time to go in and get a pro to adjust them AFTER replacing the gross nose piece.)

From that angle I have a lovely double chin. But I'm supposed to be gaining weight right now, it's HEALTHY for me. Bring on the fresh fruits! My midwife feels my diet could use improvement--less fruits for snacks, and more raw veggies and nutty things. Yum. Drool. Haha.

My hair could use some work, but at least I haven't had any acne alerts lately (bonus of pregnancy).

I also note on the photo that it's getting late.

G'night from your best bantering beautiful brightest blogger,
Mommy Roze.

Wanna be a firefly?

Blech.
At least it's diet consists of other bugs, especially cockroaches.
Maybe I'll keep it.

Here we go 'round the mulberry bush

Here we go ‘round the mulberry bush
The mulberry bush, the mulberry bush
Here we go ‘round the mulberry bush
So early in the afternoon

As far as picking goes, Matthew was a cherry picker, not a mulberry picker. That is, he'd bend down to pick up fallen dirty ones 'cause then he knew I'd say "No, don't touch those Matthew, they're yucky!" and promptly give him a good one to ensure good behavior (temporary good behavior, I mean.)

If you've read "Blueberries for Sal" by Robert McCloskey, you'll see that Melanie is a perfect little Sal.

There were no bears...but she did share her berries with Matthew, and had nothing left over in her pail at the end.

Nathan was a fabulous helper! It wouldn't surprise me if he didn't eat any!!

Yup, that bowl of berries were ALL picked by him. He, however, didn't share with Matthew OR Melanie. Both him and I had to keep saying:
"No Sal,
Run along and pick your own berries."
(Mother wants to can hers for the winter)
Or gobble them up in a day or two. :)

As per request here is another talking videos, plus two extras. Email didn't work...maybe the files are too big. Oh--and if you were to give the kids a demo of a longer talking video, they might figure out how to blab a little more. MIGHT. Kids can be clueless sometimes. :p

LESS THAN FOUR WEEKS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Long videos

Perhaps not as much talking as desired...but you'll have to wait until a chattier mood is here.
