The rest of April

Evelyn was done most of her school work, and used her time finishing up a painting she got frustrated with in December. She is happy with it now!
And she sewed herself a dress.  Melanie offered her help as needed.
It turns out that the material is really "scratchy" when you wear it, so she puts it over top of other clothes. It turned out really good!
We had some snow.
I came up with a legal activity to keep my locked down kids from going stir crazy.  We biked to a trail nearby and the older two (Nathan is working full time now, so he isn't included anymore, and we don't expect to see him except at dinner time😉)...meaning Melanie and Matthew, that is,  put up ribbons on the trees for us to follow  (and collect). We took Matthew's walkie talkies to keep it exciting, and chips and juice.
We caught up with them....next time put up fewer ribbons! We had snack there.
Yum.
We played rocks and roots--a stay off the ground kind of game.
And went back to our bikes the easy way.  It sure was nice to get out! Such a breath of fresh air. Literally.
Jennifer has been making steady progress on her paint by number painting. It is such a big project but is looking great!
We put the potatoes in the garden down the hill.
Philip took a day off. With lockdown our hopeful spring camping trip has been a no-go. (Technically it has been a bit chilly though) So he took off a day and we went to an old haunt of ours from years ago. Humber River Heritage Trail.
I remember that bridge!
It was a bit chilly, but if we were down "by" the river and out of the wind it was nice. The sun even popped out for 30 seconds a few times.
Dad, what's that? (Yeah, look at both at the same time! ;) )
It was a nice change to have the kid carrying the pack instead of carrying the kid in the pack!!
We came home and the power went out shortly after. BBQed pizza was really good, actually! And the evening was a really cozy end to the day.
