Yup, Nathan and Melanie needed to start covering their hands when they were typing.
Melanie was willing to let Evelyn hear all the fun music while she did the work.
Nathan helped out with something I needed done...he noted my grumpiness and lent a hand. He can be very sweet!
Jennifer would love to go to school. Or do formal schoolwork. Except on the days I have work for her to do and want her to follow instructions. Then she is not so interested.
Daniel made some extra bookmarks. He did some writing on them too. He can write up big stories, but you have to know how to sound them out phonetically! It helps a lot if you get him to read it to you first. ;)
Chilling time.
Caught in a dress-up dress.
Nathan cramming his books in. Once spring came, school became a huge burden. For me, and the kids. Maybe it always is for the kids. ;) Well, we raced through the last bit of things so the kids would have closure, but it was sloppily done. :o
'Cause the sun is shining and the gardens are calling!
And we just want to be outside!
Matthew had to prove to me that those yellow spring flowers at the bottom of the driveway weren't dandelions. He was right!
With much convincing (and a helper) Melanie finally hung up her birdhouse. And just in time! A house wren did end up nesting in it!
Occasionally Daniel will read a book to the kids. Usually it's just looking at pictures and talking about them, as the girls aren't patient enough. ;)
Piano recital coming right up! Better practice!
Daniel drew him and Jennifer. Note their noses -- backwards J and a D. So you can tell who is who I guess. ;) "Jennifer is the best girl in the world and my favorite sister." (For the day at least. He tells Evelyn that lots too! :o )
Matthew plowing through his learning to read books. They were getting pretty tough by the end. Got a couple pages still, but we are getting there! Him and Daniel have to read during the summer too. Don't want to reteach it all come September!
Scratching their things off their school to do lists. You can just tell they are having a blast. ;)
But we finished school early! And we haven't had to think about it! Summer is free and fun! Oh wait. Except that Nathan and Melanie have a school checklist for the summer months ;o and a reading list to fill out. And Matthew and Daniel have book list to fill in too. They had mixed feelings about it. Ripped off. Relief it was so little. Plans of free time looking lessened. Something to do when boredom comes inevitably. But mostly, feeling ripped off. :p

Rain and glasses
We haven't had rain in such a long time. Except a few days ago a light rain in the night. The ground is so hard and dry when I hoe in the flower gardens, the dirt is like dust! But long ago in April we didn't have that problem! And the grass was brown then too! (but the weeds weren't green either.)
We all went to the optometrists, and all of the kids came home with glasses!
Best of all, they were free! We went two times, and the kids got two pairs each!
(Worst of all, they look geeky and they are really unnecessary.)
But they were fun!
