Soap # Six

Just noticed that the lost and neglected child's soap pics vanished in the shuffle, and nobody got to see his masterpiece!

Daniel tried various types of cuts, then he had a gun!  He had a smaller piece of feta cheese too, like Jennifer.  He had a great time chopping the soap into smaller and smaller pieces and wiping the crumbs on the floor.

Daniel's racecar

Sometimes Daniel spends an hour or more playing with lego, hunting for pieces, building, taking apart, and finalizing his final product.
This one had details like a spare tire-because race cars always have them on the back. ;)

Extra soap bars

Matthew carved out a boat.  He was the first to start and the last to finish.

Jennifer made chopped feta cheese after trying some bigger items that didn't work.

Evelyn just loved having a knife!  She let me make a bowl for her, then she adapted it into a hat and wore it.

After some thought Melanie decided her soap was in the shape of a vehicle, and it turned into a truck.  She waited to see what everyone else decided to make before she started.

Nathan spent a long time deciding what to make too, for he didn't want to waste the soap more than it was being wasted already. ;)  Then he made a car.

A three panel windstorm

We built a "portable" fence around the pool-we still don't know if it will be a useable pool, or if it is toast-so we didn't want to invest too much in it, but still make a barrier between it and the little ones.

As you can see we have had a bit of trouble with it when it is windy.  We've strengthened these ones-but since then haven't had such strong wind, so we don't know for sure if it's good enough. ;)

And just when we got it this far our insurance company called and said "You need to have a fence around the pool according to bi-laws, you need your roof done, you need... (x4) done ...in 90 days.  We're sending a letter with the specs."  We were pretty upset for various reasons...but when the letter arrived, it turns out they were only "recommendations" with no follow up and no 90 day timeline.  Phew!  Meantime, the bi-laws we didn't think were relevant here appeared to be dug in the ground fence, a few inches taller, of different material etc.  As far as we can tell, these are more recent laws, and in the past 5 years or so irrelevant to country homes.  Sigh.

Get to work

Rise and shine all of you, older to younger, and get to work!
(Evelyn doesn't have any vacuuming chores, but if we leave the vac unattended she pounces on it so she can do her share. ;)
